In 2025 i got to visit Helsinki twice! for those not in the know, helsinki is the capital city of finland, the country i live in! The first trip went well but the second... you'll see,,,

FIRST VISIT
On the 14th of October, me and my mother decided to go for a single-day shopping trip in Helsinki.
I got to visit the best video store in Helsinki and even had my first visit to the ever-iconic Lelukauppa FLEA. We had to move around a lot, which made me learn how public transit works here. This came to be really handy later.
It was a great visit. very simple, but I still got to learn a lot of new things!

SECOND VISIT
With train tickets bought and Airbnb booked, the day ahead of us was once in a lifetime.
On the 5th of December, Me and my friend Celery were going to meet in Helsinki to see MEW together for their farewell tour. This was the last time they were coming to Finland; it was now or never...

We met at Mall Tripla. Headed to our fancy Airbnb to meet the host, hung out, we then headed out to get some food at Pancho Villa (knowers know.)
The restaurant was pretty busy. A company had decided to host their Christmas party there, but we didn't let it disturb us; we had the time to wait! Our food arrived at the table surprisingly quickly; it was just 2 hours until the show! We were so excited, munching on our burgers. Then something changed the evening; "Mew isn't real." I thought celery was fucking with me ngl, but I checked my phone, and there it was. Announcement of how MEW's vocalist got sick, and thus the concert was cancelled. The whole mood changes, our jaws dropped, our jones dropped.. everything dropped. The first concert turned into the first cancelled concert. It was a disaster; what are we to do now?!

We headed out after our meal. We were on suicide watch, and Celery started smoking crazy style. I had an idea that maybe we could be able to catch a smaller event, since we were in the capital city and all. I scrolled through a few event websites, and then I saw it; a release party for a book held at a bar just two hours from now.
Various things happened; we met a friend, but we arrived at the event about 30 minutes after it started. The venue was located in the bar's basement (p cool.) We got to see a lot of local music acts; it was quite special. At one point Celery had to charge they phone, so we went back upstairs, and guess what? The bar radio played Mew TWICE!! And we didn't even ask for anything! we scrumt, we crieded, we were reborn. (Also the bar had reaaallly good water, and it was free.) After some time of music performances, hanging upstairs, and not being able to play biljard, we headed back to the Airbnb.
The night ended with a friend coming over to read stories to Celery while I was tired as fuuuuuck.

The second day was generally just hanging out, visiting Lelukauppa FLEA, and then leaving this disaster trip behind (going home). Goodbye, Helsinki!! We will come see you again on the 30th of January on a new MEW date. See you there...
